Environmental Policy Statement
Organisations of all kinds are increasingly determined to achieve and demonstrate sound environmental performance by controlling the impact on the environment of their activities. They do so in the knowledge of growing environmental awareness and more stringent legislation while realising the benefits of environmental protection and best practice.
As a reputable timber trading company Murdock Hardwood Industries strive to purchase where possible from suppliers capable of offering products covered through the PEFC chain of custody schemes . Any suppliers not covered by these schemes must be able to provide information relating to legality of their supply and must demonstrate the robust due diligence systems they operate.
To comply with the latest European Union Timber Regulations (EUTR) Murdock Hardwood will insist on suppliers furnishing them with the appropriate information relating to the suitability of the forest resource and any documentation which may help to demonstrate good forest management and legal harvesting rights from that country.
Murdock Hardwood's intention is that year on year we will be able to offer a larger, wider and more complete range of products which meet the most stringent requirements of any chain of custody scheme. With this long term approach it is the intention and belief of Murdock Hardwood to make the future of our industry environmentally sustainable and economically viable.

Newry 26 February 2015 Murdock Hardwood Industries Ltd. today joined more then 10,000 companies around the world to have been awarded PEFC Chain of Custody certification. We invested in this rigorous assessment process to demonstrate our commitment to a sustained future for the world's forests. This certification provides assurances that Murdock Hardwood Industries Ltd. procures timber products from sustainable, legal and traceable sources.
Chain of Custody certification is a process by which certified material can be traced from forest to the end user. It provides proof that the product, or product line being sold is linked to legally managed and certified forests. Stringent PEFC standards track all timber products and wood fiber coming out of the forest to insure they originated in sustainably-managed forests. Chain of Custody documentation offers assurances that each stage of the supply chain has been monitored closely and audited according to independent, third-party verification. This unbroken link offers transparent proof that materials have been responsibly sourced.
